Bronx Bombin
THE YANKEES PICKED UP WHERE THEY LEFT OFF IN THE WORLD SERIES... SLUGGING. HRs. GREAT PITCHING. AND OH YEAH, DEMOLISHING THE BOSOX.
ON SUNDAY, OPENING DAY, THE YANKEES PLAYED BOSTON IN NEW ENGLAND, BUT AFTER BEING UP 5-1, GOT A LITTLE OVERCONFIDENT AND GOT DROPPED 8-5. THE NEXT TWO GAMES WERE MORE FAVORABLE, WINNING BOTH WITH STELLAR PLAY. IN BOTH SITUATIONS, ENTER SANDMAN: THE AGELESS ONE, MARIANO RIVERA LEFT THE DUGOUT TO SHUT THE GAME DOWN. IN BOTH TRIES, HE SUCCESSFULLY STRUCK OR FORCED OUT THE REDSOX BATTERS. IN LAST NIGHT'S GAME, CURTIS GRANDERSON WAS A MAN AMONGST MEN AND REITERATED WHY THE YANKEES BROUGHT HIM TO NEW YORK.
SEASON OUTLOOK:
CHEERS FOR NEW YORK AND TEARS FOR BOSTON.
